Deepak
Deepak has been my guide on most of these trips, and by now I wouldn't set off without him. What stands out isn't just the experience, though there's plenty of that — it's how he is with the dogs themselves. He reads them the way you'd hope someone reads a nervous client: knowing when to step in, and when to hang back and let a dog work things out on its own.
He's young, easy company, and genuinely kind — attentive when you need a hand, and happy to give you space when you don't. If you fancy brushing up your Nepali on the way (or he fancies practising his English), he's always up for turning a long stretch of trail into a language exchange.
